Pumps

OIL PUMPS

Oil pumps are generally used to supply oil to vaporising oil stoves in situations where there is insufficient head pressure to allow a reliable and consistent oil feed to be established.

To comply with UK boat safety regulations these pumps need to be metal bodied.

The pumps are fitted in a push situation where they will push rather than pull and as such need to be fitted close to the supply tank to push the fuel to the oil stove.

When fitting any pump always think about fitting a suitable isolation valve at either side of it to allow for easy future replacement, if you are unsure, get in touch.

WATER CIRCULATING PUMPS

Three options here 230V mains, 12V DC or 24V DC.

If you have a land line and are in a live aboard situation the 230V mains pump is the best bet, they are much more reliable and much cheaper. There are a variety of pumps with various efficiency ratings.

If you are off grid then it would be better to use the DC pumps depending upon the DC volts available on board.
